The Studio

The Design Barn is a fabric and interiors studio based in Galway, centred around a carefully curated library of fabrics and wallcoverings for residential and commercial interiors.

Created as a calm working showroom, the studio provides a considered environment where materials, colour and texture can be explored slowly and in context. Bringing together leading international textile houses alongside interior planning and drawing services, the studio supports projects from early concept through to final specification.

With a focus on quality, craftsmanship and timeless design, The Design Barn offers clients and design professionals a more thoughtful way to approach interiors, one that begins with materials and evolves into spaces that feel layered, balanced and liveable.

Founder and Interior Architect

Gráinne O'Neill

With over 25 years of experience in interior design through her Galway-based studio, Architectural Spaces, Gráinne has developed a deep understanding of how spaces come together, from spatial planning and architectural detail through to the materials and finishes that define a room.

Recognising the lack of a dedicated luxury fabric studio in the west of Ireland, she established The Design Barn to bring a curated textile library closer to home. The studio reflects her belief that interiors begin with materials, and that thoughtful, well-considered selections create spaces that feel both refined and comfortable.

Taking a practical and collaborative approach, The Design Barn works closely with clients, designers and architects to guide material choices and support the development of interiors that are cohesive, functional and enduring.
